Selected work

Four products I’ve designed and built, from forestry data to finding a plumber.

Aurenox Software

Custom software studio

Software that fits your business.

Custom software for New Zealand businesses, shaped around how each one already works. Trades, hospitality, clinics, makers and growers.

What I built

  • A field-service platform with 20+ modules and role-based access
  • A companion mobile app with consent-based, geofenced clock-on
  • Customer quote portal with Stripe billing
  • Integrations with Xero, MYOB, Google Workspace and Microsoft 365

Timba dashboard strip over a forest canopy: a canopy-height trace with readings of 24.8 m mean canopy height, 612 stems per hectare and 214 tonnes of carbon per hectare.

Timba

Forestry valuation platform

Know what your forest is worth before anyone puts a saw in it.

Turns aerial LiDAR scans into canopy height, stocking, carbon and terrain data, then into valuations, harvest plans and compliance reports for forest owners, councils, insurers and investors.

What I built

  • LiDAR point-cloud processing into per-hectare forest metrics
  • Valuations priced against 14+ international timber markets
  • Carbon modelling, risk and compliance reporting
  • A live dashboard for forest health and value

NZ Web Services homepage in black and acid yellow: “Get found. Get called.” with prices of $1,000 one-off and $75 a month.

NZ Web Services

Websites for trade businesses

Get found. Get called.

Websites, hosting and search for New Zealand tradies. The site gets built before the client pays anything, usually within 24 hours.

What I built

  • A build-first model: $1,000 once the client approves, then $75 a month
  • Hosting, search setup and Google Business Profile management
  • Live sites for builders, landscapers, earthworks crews and a sawmill

TradeFlare homepage: “Good trades, close to home,” over a photo of timber house framing, with a job search bar.

TradeFlare

Trades marketplace

Good trades, close to home.

Connects homeowners with local tradespeople in 16 regions. Describe the job once and nearby businesses get in touch. Free for homeowners.

What I built

  • Job posting that keeps the homeowner’s number private until they share it
  • A directory of dozens of trades across 16 regions
  • A cost guide with GST-inclusive ballpark estimates
  • Business listings from $50 a month, with no per-lead fees

“We are extremely happy with the new website that Phoenix designed for us. From the outset, he was professional, approachable, and always available to answer our questions or provide support throughout the process.”

Sharon, Landscaping Mangawhai

“Communication was excellent, everything was explained clearly, and nothing ever felt like too much trouble.”

HeadRock Construction, Builders, Mangawhai

Five years.Twenty-plus apps.Thousands of daily users.

I’m Cort Phoenix, a software developer in New Zealand. Most of what I build is for businesses that work on site and on the tools: builders, landscapers, sawmills, mechanics, foresters and field crews.

I design it, build it, launch it and look after it. The aim is always the same: software that fits how a business already works, so people use it instead of working around it.

How I work

  1. We talk

A free chat about what’s slowing you down. If an app you can already buy would do the job, I’ll tell you.

  2. You get a fixed price

An agreed price before any work starts. If the scope changes, the change is quoted first.

  3. I build where you can see it

Working software early, so you can try it and steer it while it takes shape.

  4. It launches, and I look after it

Data moved across, your team shown the ropes, hosting and support sorted. You own the code and the data.
